Chapter 8- Road to the Revolution Learn About It: * The students will learn about the French and Indian War and the impact that it had on the British. * The British government tried to raise money in the colonies to pay for the war by taxing the colonists. * The various events such as the Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party, and The First Continental Congress that created more trouble between the colonists and the British government.
Enrichment: 1) Write a journal entry from the point of view of a British tax official living in Boston. 2) Write song lyrics about one of the taxes that the colonists opposed. 3) Create a collage that demonstrates the main events that led to the Revolutionary War. These pictures should have a one sentence caption under them.
